Emanuele de Raymondi | Buyukberber Variations
RELEASE: 09/2012 ( ZK010 Digital / Vinyl)

Emanuele de Raymondi is a music composer based in Rome, Italy. He graduated in composition at the Berklee School of Music (Boston) and in modern guitar at the Musicians Institute (Los Angeles). His work is influenced by electronica, contemporary classical, sound art and minimalism. He composed music for several films such as Saro (Turin Film Festival 2016), Arianna (Venice Film Festival, BAFTA 2015), Waves (Rome Film Fest 2013). He collaborated with dancers of the Opera de Paris and scored music for several 3d mapping shows including Vivid Sidney.

In his debut album on ZEROKILLED MUSIC, avant-garde artist Emanuele De Raymondi interprets the evocative improvisations by Turkish virtuoso clarinetist Oguz Buyukberber through mesmerizing electronic manipulations. The only sound source of the 10 tracks that make up the album is Buyukberber’s clarinet: the improvisation sessions were recorded by De Raymondi in Berlin in a unique architectural space, with a natural reverberation time of 10 seconds - no digital effects or additional instruments were used during the composition.

The sound of Buyukberber’s clarinet is transformed and stratified by the experimental composer resulting in a style that cohesively combines electronica, jazz, ambient and minimalism.
